Software Development Kit

Embedded Programming

The SDK includes a low level C Application Programmer Interface (API) that is optimized for highly critical embedded applications that require efficient access to hardware data buffers. This low level API and its supporting drivers are delivered with source code (for Linux, VxWorks, and others).

Object-Oriented Programming

The SDK also includes a high level object-oriented library that provides a C++ API as well as a .NET API supporting C# and Visual Basic applications. These high level APIs provide an intuitive, focused interface that simplifies software development when compared to the low level C API. It provides both hardware (the same PCI is common across all form factors) and a development environment independent interface.

Remote Object Services (ROS)

ROS Service makes AIT’s hardware available to applications running in other processes or on other hosts in the network. It supports heterogeneous networks of host where the server (hosting the hardware) may use a different operating system than the clients hosting the applications software. This service is simple to configure and install and provides intuitive support for distributed applications that frees the application programmer from concern about the underlying communications between the server and client hosts.

Flight Simulyzer (FS-429)

Flight Simulyzer is a Windows-based analyzer software for use with Avionics Interface Technologies boards. Fight Simulyzer enables a user to easily setup:

  • Tx Channel Setup, including labels, SDI, and data, with rate-oriented label transmission
  • Rx Channel Setup for single or multiple Rx channels
  • Chronological Monitor for the display of received traffic

The intuitive graphical user interface provides the ability to easily setup the transmit and receive channels, and bus monitor without any programming. F-Simulyzer supports all of the AIT board operations including triggering/filter setup and data corruptor. All setups are stored in well documented XML files allowing users to easily create setups directly from program specific configuration databases.

Flight Director (FD-429)

Flight Director is a Windows program software application that enables the user to process and display parameters in engineering units. The Flight Director software is based on an intuitive graphical user interface that allows all parameters to be associated with graphical widgets for visualization. All parameter definitions are stored in well documented XML files allowing users to easily create setups directly from program specific configuration databases.

LabView, LabView Real Time, and LabWindows

The SDK includes high level support for LabView and LabWindows applications. Instrument Drivers are provided for both environments including support for operations on real-time targets (LabView RT). The instrument drivers provide users with a high level interface that supports the setup and configuration utilizing configuration files created within the Flight Simulyzer GUI applications. The instrument drivers are optimized to take full advantage of the advanced onboard functions provided by the FPGA and embedded processors of the hardware modules in order to support time critical real-time applications.
